According to the world network for basic income: basic income is an unconditional monetary allocation (for all residents of a given nation), the use of which depends entirely on the choice of who receives it or who is entitled to it, destined to guarantee the minimum material conditions of existence that allow for a decent life.
How can Universal Income policies be supported from a Commons perspective?
The proposal of Universal Basic Income is gaining momentum in the political arena during the pandemic COVID19 as a way out the economic crisis to come but also to create the base for the emergence of a new normal. Commoners and Commons movement should take a position on this and decide how to articulate their position on the basic income in order to understand on which base and reasoning they support the campaign.
