From the Feminist Confluence of Transformative Economies on this November 25th (25N), "International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women" we launched this manifesto, mobilised and organised against the forms of economic violence that have been articulated with patriarchal, racist and xenophobic violence. Under this perspective, we want to condemn all forms of violence against women, transvestites, trans people, lesbians, bisexuals, and non-binaries.
The inauguration of the last stage of FSMET 2020 will take place next Monday, October 26th at 3 pm CET (you can access the session at this link).
Apart from reviewing the confluence process of recent years and presenting the program for the coming days (ie #AcceptemElRepte sessions and self-managed activities) this session also wants to be a workspace where tools are presented, impressions are exchanged and draw lines to keep moving forward.
The second stage of the FSMET is about to begin: it will be held for 8 days that will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays - 15h CET within the framework of the Fair for Solidarity Economy of Catalonia.
Below we detail the sessions and the links to access them:
During these exceptional times of confinement to try and halt the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, our societies continue to face the everyday challenge of taking care of life amidst these uncertain times, whilst not losing sight of the immediate future in a world that is not the same and is experiencing rapid transformation.
The Covid-19 has unleashed an unprecedented health, social, political and economic emergency worldwide. To this, we must add that we are also experiencing an environmental crisis that is destroying our planet, as well as the violation of basic human rights such as precarious work. All of this is due to the fact that capitalism places profit and self-interest at the centre of its activity. That is why transformative economies know that we are the only viable response to these crises, because we put people, the environment, life and care at the centre of our activity.
After the communication of the suspension of the presential event of the FSMET in June, several weeks have passed in which the networks, organizations and collectives continue working and articulating themselves. Last Thursday, April 16th, the Coordinating Committee (CC) of the WSFTE met to see how to advance in this new context and the response was unanimous: from the Transformative Economies we have to work for the construction of an Agenda in the new post-pandemic context, now more than ever!
